Love Mondays - Monday, August 28
I never would've thought, even just a few years ago, that I would ever get used to the Monday morning calling. All part of my transformation I suppose, because now I get super-amped on Monday. For me, it's a new beginning, a fresh start to yet another week of my life. I'm definitely not one of those guys that walks around with a big ol cheesy smile on my face and greets everyone with a cheery 'What a beautiful day it is!', but yea, I'm feelin good. My body is now conditioned to the early hours of the mornings and it's a perfect time to get all my ME time in. Tea and fresh air are the first two things I consume every morning, followed by some yoga-esque stretching and intentional visualization. This pretty much puts me in the flow for each day.
A little political aside - Thursday, August 24
Check this. Someone, I'm sure to remain anonymous over at a little company we all know here in Silicon Valley has something they'd like to share. Do this; go to google.com and type in the search term: 'failure' and see the results. Or just click here and see the top result for 'failure'. Ouch. Gotta love democracy.... at times.
Frame Captures - Wednesday, August 23
So yea, been shooting up a storm lately. Lots of photographs to filter through - the editing process begins tonight. Been helping Ani collect photos for her upcoming book about 'Green Lifestyles', meaning totally about raw foods, bio-friendly living, earth-friendly materials and lots of information about living the good life.

On the LASIK tip, been an official week now and everything is 'crystal'. Nice. Love it.
Sunrise+ - Tuesday, August 22
There's something to be said for watching a sunrise, the experience of a new day dawning is a beautiful thing to witness. Sunday morning was such a day, where a live music set, out on the beach, was the perfect soundtrack from midnight to sunrise. Unfortunately for all those hoping for a spectacular sunrise, there was merely a fog-lined sky and only the reference to the actual sun rising. Beauty is beauty. It was an amazing location and the music all morning long was excellent. So yeah, trying to catch up on sleep and realizing that sleep is not as important as connecting, dancing and enjoying the time we have in this earthly space.
Visual Clarity - Thursday, August 17
Not only can I see today after my LASIK procedure, but just 24hours afterwards I'm feeln damn good. Super high in fact. I've just become Ede 5.0 - my latest version number. At some point I'll go into all the different advancements I've been through and how I've arrived at 5.0. For now, I'm totally lovin my new vision and the quality of it. Wow! This is truly amazing. I can't sit in front of a computer any longer, but get out and explore this new feeling. Oh yea, one thing, the OR (operating room) experience was top notch, totally taken care of and in the hands of the best in the industry. Thank you, thank you. A HUGE thank you to my private nurse Konika, you rock. (And no she's not currently taking any more patients, hehe.)
Goin Under the Laser - Tuesday, August 15
Yep, big day is tomorrow officially. Can't wait either, gonna be one of the best things ever. Finishing up all my homework and reading that I've been doing about the latest advancements and such. Looks like I'm going to be opting for the WaveFront technology. Apparently MOST people are back at it the next day, even some slipping right back into where they left off. So, we'll see how it all goes. My procedure will be taking place in the afternoon, after which I'll probably just want to sleep and chill for the rest of the evening. Could make for a great excuse not to stare at the monitor for a bit....
In Prep for Lasik - Sunday, August 13
'Super Mellow', that's how I would sum up the past few days. No surfing, no soccer, no socializing, mostly sleep and a bunch of movies. Finally recovering from some weird little episode + the whole achilles injury. Was coming home from a day at the studio and crashing for the remainder of the eve. Feeling back on top and firing on all cylinders today, which is why I'm venturing out. I'll be up in Marin for the rest of the day.

But yea, soon enough, already had the prelim exam, I'll be heading into the OR (operating room, not Oregon) to have Lasik performed on my eyes. Can't wait, been researching for awhile now, finally found the bomb doctor, DR Kawesch atThe Laser Eye Center of Silicon Valley. Gonna be such a trip to wake up with great vision, hasn't happened since I was like 14 or something. Looking forward to it, let you know how it rolls.
Full ON Friday Refresh - Friday, August 11
Finally got to it. Rearranged a few things, changed up a few things, went back to my favourite colour palette -- and lovin it. Still coming up with a few conventions, such as how to manage all this content, uh, being a visual guy, not to hip on all the tools to use to do this, but with some help from around me, I've been prying into it. I'll watch to see how this layout totally breaks down on some peeps machines and how some browsers will trash the typography, but, what can ya do? I know this looks best in Safari running on a Mac in OS X, this I am sure of. Well. Cheers and happy surfing.
Visual Beauty - Wednesday, August 2
Takagi Masakatsu, a nice little insight into an artist using digital media to connect with the feeling of being alive. I could watch his visual canvas all day. Simple beauty.
Pain and Sleep
It's been a rough last three days for me. The short story is that I fully injured my achilles on Sunday. A moderate right ankle soccer injury I had prior to surfing was bad enough, now I'm walking in pain and remembering that, yeah, pain makes us feel human. But damn it sucks. I rarely bruise or swell due to injury, chalk that up to a rough and tumble childhood with 2brothers I suppose, so sometimes it's difficult for me to tell just how bad it is. This one's good. Keeps me up at night with the constant throbbing and all. But it's Wednesday now and I'm still hangin tuff. No drugs, just massage and some serious shut-eye time. Healing definitely is a 'process'.
More of what's new.
