Tunes, Time and Image - Wednesday, May 31
A great article around the
Brief History of Laptop Music, posted up at New Music Box, a treasure-trove of musical insight. Love it. Read it. Hear it.
Trapped in time,
Nikolai Golovanoff's photographs seem to capture a rare moment in time that will continue to live and breathe in the now. Beautiful timeless work.
Huge props to Leica for beginning to piece it all together in the digital realm. Loving their recent little release,
Leica C-LUX 1. Quick, small and very snap-worthy. Also, one of the smallest things Leica, to fit in your pocket.
Connect
Having a great couple of weeks having fully shifted my schedule to being more of an early riser and getting into my summer hours. In the first hours of light this morning I had a chance to deeply meditate and give thanks for all the amazing changes happening around me now - and for all the good people guiding me through my experience.
Furnace Restoked - Tuesday, May 30
An amazing few days of late. Feeling creatively recharged and now ready to head full speed into the next chapter of life. Late last week had the opportunity to meet up with a good friend,
Burk Jackson, in San Francisco and talk over the details concerning transformation. To me, life is one BIG ADVENTURE. Feeling a little more settled into my south bay experience, had a chance to connect with some great people. This week for me will prove to be a very enlightened one as I push forward with projects that have been just outta reach. Antonio Sanchez, the mythical illustrator, arrives back in the bay today after a road trip to Mississippi and back, can't wait to hear the stories. Lots of photos snapped recently and will find their way online soon enough. Cheers
An Inconvenient Truth - Friday, May 26
Check this film,
An Inconvenient Truth. This is the most comprehensive summary of climate change issues available, so I hear. I encourage all of you to grab a friend and see it before it leaves the theaters soon. I'll be checking it out this week on June 2nd, let me know if you want to come along.
While the problem is urgent, the solutions are clear, accessible, and good for the economy. We all know our politicians don't do anything unless they are pushed. Now is the time to educate yourselves and do something about the issue that trumps all issues.
Spread the word. The more people who go see this movie on opening weekend, the more theaters will pick it up.
CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC - Thursday, May 25
Yea, things are different here. A few things I'm really lovin at the moment; living and working in Silicon Valley, my morning commute, the current
55DSL campaign 'Live at least 55 seconds per day',
Skate for Cancer, summer weather, eating outside, working on my afterglow, super fresh sushi, and some of the best farmers markets in the country.
Past and Present - Tuesday, May 23
Nike and Apple, my past and present, team up to take music straight to the sporting world with innovative
Nike+iPod products. For me music is life and a huge part of my workout regime, at least when I'm going it alone - experiencing my own soundtrack to life. Definitely cool for training purposes. Check out
Apple's press release for more.

At Home with the Makers of Style, such a great book. Had some time this past weekend just before passing out for a good ol afternoon nap. Only got through a third of it or so and can already tell this one is going straight to the top shelf. A great look into the living spaces and attitudes toward style of the world's top designers including the likes of Alberto Alessi, Joseph Holtzman, Piero Busnelli and Yves Behar; to name a few.
Settled
Finally getting all settled in a little place known as Silicon Valley. Yup, never lived in the southbay before, but I figured why not give it a shot for a bit to see how it is. Last week I was house-sitting for MR American Super, Antonio, up in Oakland and as of this week I'm now down in San Jose. Fun stuff I tell ya. Carving out a new world for myself and lovin it.
Day 4 - Thursday, May 18
Moving into Day 4 and feeling a little more comfortable with all the recent changes happening in my life. More still on the way as well. Change is good. So yea, back in the bay area again. Kinda feels like I never left, even though I've been away since 1999 - travelling, working, creating, planning, living and experiencing life. Looking back, it's been an amazing run, would do it all over again if I could, but now for the opportunities of the future. I've just started an amazing gig at Apple, couldn't be happier at the moment for the chance to get to work with some of the best in the world when it comes to design. I'm house-sitting for my friend Antonio at the moment in Oakland and will be moving down to San Jose at weeks end. Cheers to what lies ahead, hoping our paths cross again soon.
Cupertino - Monday, May 15
Day ONE. I'll try and keep everyone in the loop as it all unfolds. Still in the cleansing process and just beginning to get to everything NEW. Amazing how life can change so quickly in just 10days.....
Back to the liquid - Friday, May 12
I think I'm a west coast kid for life. Hearing the sounds of the surf and the sweet California sunshine reminds me that, yup, we've got it pretty good here. Why go anywhere else? I'll always have a passion for travel, that's a given, but I'll always come home. California.
