POTD, fuck ye - Saturday, June 25
Planet of the Drums, for those who know great drum'n'bass, then you know these guys need no intro. They showed up to Barracuda last night and proceeded to crank out some of the best music this year. Performing together as a unit you can see these guys have become really tight and their sound has climbed to the top. Since coming to Portland I haven't seen such talent actually go out of their way to make a stop here. Still not positive I can call this city home, but at least for 1night I could. Thanks AK1200, Dieselboy, Dara and Messinian.

Damn, it's everywhere. Advertising has made its way to the streets, magazines. movie theaters, urinals, the ladies room, local WCs, buses, taxi cabs, websites and even on coasters at my local watering hole. Shit, even the light rail, airports, subways, train stations and bike messengers have been plastered.
DELETE, a recent art project has taken back the public space and makes serious commentary on how over-inundated we've all been. DELETE reclaims the advertising realm and brings it all in perspective. Welcome to generic-ville, a fresh take on art and urban life.

Just getting back from a few days at Breitenbush Hot Springs, a wildlife sanctuary in the Mt Hood National Forest. I can't seem to get enough hot water. The rock lined mineral springs are a perfect place to spend hours meditating while soaking in the rejuvinating water. Plus the entire encampment is surrounded by ancient old growth forests which yeilds some serious hiking opportunities. Be sure to check Devils Peak and the epic views of Mt Jefferson.
