Playing with light - Tuesday, May 31
I had the amazing opportunity to work with an über-talented photographer today,
Marcus Swanson. We were shooting a new line of snowboarding gloves making their appearance next season. More on that later. But yeah. What better place to build an amazing studio, work with some genius people and enjoy 'the process' but in Portland. The Swanson crew is top-notch. Looking forward to our next collaboration....
Urban Wayfinding - Tuesday, May 24
Was clicking through Webesteem and came across a sweet
case study on the topic of Wayfinding.
Lance Wyman, a genius designer behind the Olympic Games, Mexico68 design squad and has since launched into an urban canvas. His approach; communicate to a multilingual audience, create images that are appropriate and legible, utilize the 3rd dimension, develop a unique system....
Also, he notes, effective integration of graphics into an urban environment is a goal that is both challenging and rewarding.
- Wednesday, May 18
Woke up before the sun this morning. Dreaming of long summer days, short sleeve shirts, swimming outdoors and a nice glowing tan. Waiting for the sun and heat. I've been at my house in Portland for the past week which seems like the longest stretch this year with no travel. Working on a few projects that will keep me busy here for the next few weeks. Then I'm heading off to Santa Fe, New Mexico for some dry air and hot sun. Maybe catch a little spring boarding too. This season was pretty short due to lack of snow. Already been hearing reports that NEXT year is going to be rockin. Only time will tell.
Prepping for Cinco de Mayo - Wednesday, May 4
Been making sure the past few days have been productive, because tomorrow brings a
great celebration that will be reverberating in my head for days to come. Next year I'll be in Mexico for the real deal. This year I'll be hoping for sun, kicking back with the bros and practicing my socializing skillz. A quick trip to Seattle is just around the corner. As soon as I hear it's going to be clear skies, I'm off. Shooting some photos for some kids I know in the music world. Should be chill.
