Images of Beauty - Monday, January 10
If you haven't seen the work of
Max Cardelli, but damn it's beautiful. Some really nice shoots in my favourite of all places: THE DESERT. The desert is home to my top three; hot weather, hot springs, and cleanliness.
Year in Photos - Friday, January 7
As everyone knows, Getty Images is taking over the photo world; for better or for worse? Someday there may be a more public resource to the work of photographers, especially the photo-jounrnalists of the world. In any case, check out
Year in Focus: 2004. A great place to think back of the events during the year of the Monkey!
Carlos Serrao - Wednesday, January 5
Clic-clic. Boom. Explosions are part of the norm when you're around
Carlos Serrao these days. I had the great pleasure of working with Carlos on a shoot recently and have witnessed his expertise firsthand. He's got some amazing work up on his site, but an even more impressive array socked away on loads of hard disks just waiting to be printed and put on display. Thanks to a phat setup by
Imacon/Hasselblad and the savvy digital artist Damon Loble, Carlos has been on fire... and there's no wonder why, he makes beautiful images.
Friends, Family and Snow - Tuesday, January 4
I'm not a huge fan of the Christmas season of celebration, but I would like to say 'thank you' to everyone who made this year's events spectacular: Ani, my loving partner and soulmate. Kanga, my sweet Rhodesian fur ball. Dan, my little bro and future rockstar. Artie, my older bro I can't beileve isn't a golf pro yet. Mom, you really know how to spread the Christmas joy. Dad, I look forward to our diving trip in some warm clear waters. Max, looking forward to your first silverscreen performance. And of course my extended family of friends; Andy, Atom, Antonio, Ben, Caesar, Clint, David, Deklin, Erik, Eugene, Fran, Gary, Gio, Greg, Hannes, Hugh, Jason, Juliano, Keith, Kevin, Les, Mathew, Matt, Morgan, Ronan, Ron, Ryan J, Ryan S, Scot, Stu, Trisha, and Tyler. Oh yea, and the bountiful snow at Mt. Bachelor, where I spent the New Year throwing myself down the mountain. A special thank you to Chris, travelling all the way from London and inspiring Ani, Kanga and I to make a spontaneous trip to Bend for a very special day. See you all soon!
Welcoming 2005
Yes, tiz true. 2005 is here, and here to stay. It's also true that I did take the month of December to relax and reflect a bit in order to get a better handle on what the new year is to bring. Today is the 4th and the first official day of getting back to the action. So, welcome to the year 2005. I look forward to new inspirations, new photo explorations and new designs all coming to Decibel Dragon in the next few months. I also have some great sound experiments finally coming together as well. I had a great month of reflection and would like to thank everyone for making 2004 a great year.
