Seattle's Decibel Festival - Wednesday, September 29
Was up in Seattle this past weekend getting my groove on at the first annual Decibel Festival, Seattle's newest birth in the electronic music scene. I met up with lots of talented performers, a few top of mind were Sutekh, Portable, Richard Devine, Freaky Chakra and John Tejada. It was a nice change of pace, clubs staying open until 6am, everything was close enough to walk between and everyone seemed to be getting down on the dancefloor (the most important point). For next year I'm suggesting to get more drum'n'bass happening, so if you're into it, drop a line to the festival organizers.
Art is happening - Tuesday, September 14
Tonight. TBA Late Night Cafe with SmartMonkey Foods. MachineWorks is located at NW 14th and NW Northrup.
September time warp - Monday, September 13
It is indeed September and time for lots of great art. TBA, Time-Based Art kicked off last Friday and will continue through this week at various theaters and spaces around Portland. TBA is presented by PICA and has thus far has been a real treat to have performance artists from around the globe showing off their stuff. My consciousness is altered. The space, the music, video screens alight. This feels good.

SmartMonkey Foods is also going to be part of the act Tuesday night at MachineWorks for late night cafe. The crew will be creating an array of fresh organic treats that will leave your tastebuds asking for more! Mini Italian pizzettes covered in thinly sliced heirloom tomatoes and topped with marinated olives plus a fresh sprig of basil! Yum. And that's just beginning, gazpacho soup and an array of sweet desserts also make up the night's menu. Performance on the main stage begins at 9pm, food by SMF at 9.30pm and DJs at 11pm.
More of what's new.
