A few great photographers to add into the mix. One being, Willie von Recklinghausen, be sure to look under the 'action' section where he's got some great 'beauty shots' and 'atmospheric environments'.

This week has been going by so quickly. Working on some great updates for Decibel Dragon soon to be released. Some friends of mine just arrived from Sydney last night. Being in LosAngeles, we went to see Juliano at his new restaurant. The food was amazing as always, but when it comes to service, expect to be a bit disappointed, as we were. Jules will have it together soon, but trust me, go for the food and be prepared to wait just a bit.

I hope everyone enjoyed a happy 420 this weekend. Returning back to reality is a little difficult although I must say I did sleep well last night. Our latest SmartMonkey Foods event went perfectly yesterday. Brunch was amazing and it was great to see everyone again. Coming up in May we are having another vegan organic living cuisine event: Pizza Nite, this time in the Pearl of Portland on Sunday, 18 May 2003.

The sun was shining in the northwest this weekend. Signs of good things to come soon. Summers in Portland are amazing: warm, green and clean. I'm also planning as many climbing trips as time will allow. Top five places on my list this year are: (1) Joshua Tree (2) Smith Rock (3) Yosemite (4) Mt. Hood (5) The Blue Mountains.

Hong Kong-based collective monoONE explores the marriage of form and function with some its wacked out development pieces. Focusing on home designs such as the HOB Table Lamp and their revealing Hot Ice Cube CD Player, they are definitely a force to be watched.

Some serious talk about raw foods and diets in general on Penn & Teller's Bullshit!, now playing on Showtime. Of course they interviewed Juliano about living foods and have since spawned some pretty serious writings in their discussion boards.

All things Swiss happening this week in NewYork. From Swiss Design to Jazz and even Ice Skating. swisspeaksFestival is happening all over NewYork City from 03 March to 30 April.

Australia's most controversial building since the Sydney Opera House. This time the building is located along Melbourne's Yarra River. Federation Square, a cultural and commercial center sprawling an entire city block. This Cubist piece certainly makes a statement amongst the other neo-Gothic and Victorian landmarks neighboring it. Check out the photo gallery.

Here's an interesting concept. Biodegradable potato made container. For chips I'm sure.

As spring/summer is beginning to peak its head out from behind some serious gray skies I'm already thinking about rock climbing. Living on the west coast, mainly in California, I've been spoiled by some of the greatest climbing areas around. To name a couple: Joshua Tree and Yosemite. If you're into some sweet big-wall climbing it's all about Yosemite. Learn from some of the best in the area at the Yosemite Mountaineering School.

'The Siege of Shangri-La' by Michael McRae a great adventure novel following two Western adepts of Tibetan mysticism, Ian Baker and Hamid Sardar. A great exploration into this spiritual landscape of the Tsangpo Gorge.

Some excellent photography skills continually happening at randomentality.com, be sure to keep an eye out.

Electric Art - Creative Retouching for sure is included on a tour of the world's best retouchers. Located in Sydney, Australia. Sweet work, but a serious thumbs down on the website - not very user friendly (can't tell when anything is loading or not).

David Zimmerman has recently finished an amazing photographic journey 'Ganges River Project' which was a 2year independent project to show life and culture along the river.

Minden Pictures, a California-based photography resource represents a fine selection of nature photographers. Most are contributors to National Geographic. The animal photos are stunning and maybe soon they'll have their full catalogue online.

'Sanctuary: The Temples of Angkor'. Steve McCurry returns to Southeast Asia to photograph the ancient temple complex in central Cambodia. This latest book from McCurry proves again his renowned gift of photographing people while also recording some amazing location details.

'Hip Hop Immortals', a new book about this music world is a hall of fame for 100 of the top artists and djs who have led the movement since its start in the late 1970s. Put together by graphic designer Giovanni Russo, his firm, No. 11, and written by hip hop historian Bonz Malone.
